Donations of Stock

Donating appreciated stocks can provide multiple benefits for you as a donor — including possible deductions for the amount of the charitable donation AND escaping the unrealized gains on the donated stock. Tax benefits come from both the deduction of the appreciated stock to charity (equal to the property’s current fair market value) and lessening of any tax burden that could be brought on by the sale of the appreciated stock and its recognized capital gain. Please contact Shiree Skinner, Director of Development, at 703-521-9890 ext 103, for more information and/or routing instructions.
