Glenwood Mews Dedication

On a glorious, bright sunny day two families lives were forever changed. On that very special day, the Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia “Glenwood Mews” town homes were dedicated to the Yassin and Baghdad family. The Baghdads and Yassins received the keys to their very own homes after working for months to build them alongside volunteers.
The dedication started with an opening prayer given by Dr. Carl A Rush, Pastor of Bush Hill Presbyterian Church. A presentation was given to the sponsors of the build and Hayden Kwast of the Center for Navel Analyses and Karen Warkentien, House Leader presented the keys to the homeowners.

“Our dream has come true. This is the best day of our lives.” says Mr. Baghdad, the father of 5 children who was selected to be a Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia homeowner in the spring of 2007. The Baghdads have been living in a 2 bedroom apartment in Falls Church, Virginia for the past 5 years where they have been paying more than 50% of their income in rent. They are embarking on a whole new phase of life, being home owners will indeed make a lasting impact on their entire family, they are going to thrive!
