COVID-19 Update: July 14

Alexandria, Chantilly & Herndon ReStores Open!

All of Habitat NOVA’s ReStores are currently open. We currently have modified hours to work to thoroughly disinfect the stores daily, adjust for our limited staff and to help promote a safe and responsible environment for everyone. Below are some of the changes to be implemented:

Store Hours

The Alexandria, Chantilly, and Herndon stores will open with modified hours of Monday- Friday 10am- 4pm. We will be offering donation drop off service & shopping opportunities with the modifications listed below.

Shopping

For shopping we are allowing a maximum of 10 people in the stores at a time. All shoppers will be required to have on a mask or a reasonable mouth covering and customers are required to practice the minimum 6 feet space allowance for social distancing. Contactless debit and credit card purchases are preferred. 

Donation Store Drop Off

Donations are currently being accepted – all items will be screened before being accepted. Items must be in good working order and gently used. Please contact the store with any questions before heading to the store.

Please note for the safety of our staff and customers, we have implemented a no-contact drop-off process. If you are donating a heavy item please bring someone to help you unload the item and wear a mask or mouth covering during the drop-off process. Donation receipts will be available for you to pick up at the drop-off location.

Habitat NOVA has closed its home office temporarily but our staff are working remotely and you can reach them by email and/or phone.

Even though our operations have temporarily changed, we are fully committed to helping families achieve the dream of home ownership here in Northern Virginia. Our families are ready, our staff is ready, and our volunteers are ready… but we need your help to make it through this crisis! We know you are being asked to support many organizations right now, and that you are making hard choices. Working together, we can make the dream of affordable homeownership a reality in the post-COVID-19 world. 

Volunteer Opportunities

Our ReStores are currently accepting volunteers so if you are interested in volunteering, please sign up here!

We have suspended volunteer opportunities on our construction sites. Once we re-open, we will be thrilled to have volunteers join us again. You can sign up online at our volunteer portal, Volunteer-Hub, to volunteer and to receive email updates about any changes.
