Changes due to COVID-19: Updated 3/31

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NOVA) is committed to safeguarding the health and welfare of our families, staff, and volunteers as we navigate the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis.

Habitat NOVA is temporarily closing its home office in Alexandria. All staff will be working remotely and will be available via email and phone. We are also suspending all currently scheduled Build Days through Tuesday April 14, at which time we will reassess our next steps.

Habitat NOVA will be temporarily closing our three ReStores (Alexandria, Chantilly, and Herndon) to the public for shopping until further notice. We will reassess the situation at that time and will provide updates on our Habitat NOVA ReStore website and social media channels.

ReStore Donation Pick-Ups and Drop-offs

Habitat NOVA is no longer accepting donations at our ReStores and will not be doing any curbside pickups. We appreciate you thinking about Habitat NOVA and we look forward to accepting your donation when we re-open!

ReStore Volunteer Opportunities

Because of our concern about the well-being of our volunteers, Habitat NOVA has suspended volunteer opportunities at all ReStore locations. Once we re-open, we will be thrilled to have volunteers join us again. You can sign up online at our volunteer portal, Volunteer-Hub, to volunteer and to receive email updates about any changes.

Every decision that Habitat NOVA makes is with the wellness of the community in mind. We appreciate and value your business at our ReStores!

For current homeowners, please review VHDA’s COVID-19 guide for helpful information and who to contact if you have have a question. You can also call our office at 703-521-9890 x.107 and leave a message and someone will return your call!

Coming Together as a Community

Despite this very challenging time, Habitat NOVA is continuing our work to improve the lives of families in our local community by helping them achieve the dream of affordable homeownership. We are fully committed to completing all currently scheduled projects once we are safely past this public health crisis!

Your valuable support is critical during this time as our work continues. I ask that you consider giving to Habitat NOVA, to help keep us strengthening families and building better communities as we confront this pandemic.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and will provide important updates as we move forward. Feel free to contact Habitat NOVA, or visit our website for more information.

Please follow recommended health and hygiene protocols, stay diligent and safe, and seek up-to-date information on the status of the outbreak, and health resources available to you and your family.

Thank you for your continued support!
