Liz Salter joined Habitat NOVA in 2015. She is responsible for the management of volunteers at Habitat NOVA with a focus on construction and corporate volunteer groups. She strives to provide a rewarding experience for all volunteers in recruitment, training, coordination, and on-site management. Liz has worked to create a turnkey experience for corporate sponsors who join us for build day events; her efforts serve to increase retention and build enduring partnerships. She is responsible for one of Habitat’s core competencies which places any volunteer, no matter their skill, in service to families in Northern Virginia. Liz also coordinates fundraisers and events. She manages participants, peer to peer fundraising, event logistics, supplier relations, and volunteers. She started her career in nonprofit as an AmeriCorps member and worked on the team that started the first choice-model food pantry in Philadelphia. Prior to Habitat NOVA, Liz worked with volunteers and clients at an area food bank and homeless shelter. Liz has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Religious Studies from Albright College in Reading, PA, and Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA).
