Romana Sanchez joined Habitat NOVA in 2011 as the Director of Construction. Romana is responsible for the construction of affordable and sustainable housing for qualified home buyers. Romana manages the construction staff and is responsible for the construction budget, hiring subcontractors, and obtaining materials and equipment. She actively works in the field supervising construction and with our new home buyers, our volunteer crew leaders, and the daily volunteer workforce. Romana introduces volunteers to Habitat NOVA’s mission of providing affordable housing and how to work on a construction site.
Romana has over 25 years of practice in the field of architecture. Prior to joining Habitat NOVA, Romana was a founding principal of Sanchez Palmer Architects, PC, in Alexandria, Virginia where she specialized in design, contract documents and contract administration of residential, religious, and commercial commissions.
Romana holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of New Mexico and is a Registered Architect in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
